I began my love affair with weddings at a very early age– one of my earliest memories is of my mother and I driving somewhere in downtown Vancouver, and her pulling over and whisking me into a church because she had just seen a wedding party pull up and she wanted me to see the magic! We watched the wedding from the very back pew and I was transfixed. I have no idea who that bride was, but watching her float down the aisle that day sparked the beginning of a love of all things wedding that would endure throughout my university years and beyond, eventually manifesting itself in Fresh View Events. I have always loved flowers and decorating, often spending hours coordinating centrepieces and linens for my mother’s frequent dinner parties (she is a remarkable cook, a skill I sadly don’t share!) But flowers I know; I don’t want to brag, but I did win runner up in the Thetis Island country fair in 1985 with a very avant-garde arrangement of daisies and dandelions shoved into a teacup stolen from the “good china” cabinet.

From glamourous to rustic
I love it all.
After gaining experience on my own doing weddings for friends for several years, I was lucky enough to meet David Feys, who took a chance on me. From 2003-2005 I was the principal florist for elite event -powerhouse Feys & Hobbs Catered Arts where I gained a wealth of knowledge under the creative genius of David Feys. From there I spent six months interning at one of the top design firms in Las Vegas (Avery Brooks and Associates) because if you want to learn how to do events, you go to where 11am on a Tuesday is an event!
Fresh View Events has provided me with the perfect platform to share my love of weddings and events with every single client that walks through our door. From glamourous to rustic, big budget to intimate gatherings, I make it my goal to ensure that no matter what my clients’ vision is, I use every tool at my disposal to make each aspect of their day the very best it can be!

English Garden: Most popular ceremony choice for Spring and Summer weddings. We can also host receptions in the garden or in the mature apple orchard.
If you would like shelter, you will need to provide a tent.
We recommend Shady Spaces.
Great Barn: Our recently renovated Great Barn is a beautiful building carefully constructed with posts and beams milled right from the property. A rustic intimate space for you and your guests to dance the night away!
Attached is a newly constructed covered pergola patio available to expand your reception capacity and amenities, and/or to host your ceremony as well.
Barn Loft: has been elegantly restored to create a rustic oasis for you and your wedding party to get ready in, or to host your indoor micro ceremony! Bring lunch and champagne, relax and bring your pampering team knowing you don’t have to travel very far to get to your wedding—it’s right downstairs!
The loft has ample space to spread out and get gorgeous, with all kinds of beauty extras at your disposal in case of a hairspray or bobby pin emergency! The Juliet balcony is the perfect spot for fabulous pictures before and after the ceremony.

Most of our flowers are grown by Sarah right here on the farm!
Flowers can make a room feel wild and rustic or luxurious and chic–they can transport you into the glamorous world of princes and princesses or to a sun-drenched summer house on Martha’s Vineyard–the only limit is your imagination.
At Fresh View Events we work with each couple to determine the feel of their wedding and carefully select each bloom, vase and accessory to reflect their vision. We work with local growers and suppliers, as well as cultivating our own large cutting garden enabling us to offer our clients the very best for their celebration. Lead floral designer Sarah Hughes has been creating gorgeous floral arrangements for couples since the summer of 2000–in fact our very first couples celebrated their sixteenth wedding anniversaries this past summer!

Q: How many people can you fit?
A: Up to 122
Q: How large is your parking area?
A: We can accomodate parking for all of your guests and they are welcome to keep their cars parked overnight.
Q: What time do we have to shut down?
A: Closing time is 11:00pm.
Q: Can we bring our own alcohol?
A: Yes! Although you must use our bartenders ($25/hr per bartender)
Q: What about Catering?
A: You must use our list of pre-approved caterers (check out Vendor Love below) although we will consider another company that you recommend but ultimately it must be approved by us.
Q: What's the deal with set-up and take down?
A: The Kildara team takes care of all your structure set up and tear down, so
no roping family and friends into running around on the wedding day! You
relax and enjoy your day with all the people that mean the most to you
knowing we have taken care of all the details.
As for cleanup, we do that too, you just have the best day ever and head off into the sunset—we will arrange a time after the wedding for you to pick everything up (not the day after).
We have teamed up with one of Victoria’s best DJs, DJ Perks.
He gives Kildara clients a special rate!
